My wife, Rosemary, and I have two children who help us to play and imagine what could be possible, in this world or another.
Having stepped away from a career in professional civil engineering I have re-trained as a primary and middle/intermediate school teacher and have taught for five terms at Robertson Rd School in Mangere, Auckland. My interest in children’s book writing and illustrating has had to take a back seat for a while, as I have had to put a lot of time into planning and preparing lessons. However, I’m very keen to spend part of my summer break (2016/2017) completing a picture book draft I have. I’ll post some updates on this once I’m closer to the end.
The blog posts on this site are a mixture of travel news, sketches of people and places, and interesting events or topics that I encounter. At the bottom of this page is a list of the ten most recent posts.
I am also building several portfolios on separate pages, including some for teaching that are currently password-protected. Please contact me if you would like to access these. The page for news about my current classroom (Room 2) is here.
I’d be glad of any comments you’d care to make, especially of the art.
